Carleen is one of the newest Sparent Virtual Assistants on our team, and we are excited to introduce you to her! She comes from a varied background that will benefit her clients, especially those looking for a virtual assistant to help with driving traffic through content marketing, or project management tasks. Virtual Assistant History & Skills
Carleen began her work from home journey as a technical writer - she contracted to many different engineering firms, creating user-friendly content from highly technical documents. She loved the industry because it gave her the chance to be constantly learning new things - one assignment of note was getting to work in a factory that made cardboard boxes! It fascinates her that there are so many industries that she has never even thought of how they worked before, but then she gets to work documenting their processes. She also spent time working on technical documentation for the 30 Meter Telescope in Hawaii. Unfortunately, she did not get to move to Hawaii during that time, though she would have loved it!
When she became a mom in 2018, Carleen decided to move into copywriting where she could find greater freedom in her schedule to help her focus more on her family. She has worked as a copywriter in many different industries - both small businesses and Fortune 100 giants. Her career has had a strong focus on SEO, and she has been lucky to work on SEO projects for some very well-known, high-traffic websites. In addition, she was able to work with an agency on social media management where she learned all the ins and outs of the most popular social media platforms - TikTok is one of her favorites and she has had many videos go viral on there!

Who is Carleen?
Carleen is from Vancouver, BC, Canada where she lives on a small farm with her husband and daughter. Together they grow no-spray produce for the local farm markets. She appreciates the flexibility of working as a Sparent virtual assistant because it allows her the freedom to help out on the farm when it’s busy season, and take on additional work in the slower times in-between planting and harvesting. Carleen’s favorite crop is garlic - she is responsible for harvesting all of their garlic scapes in early June, and she loves to fry them to eat. She also has rescue ponies and chickens on the farm, and is a self-described collector of animals. She has an especially soft spot for the older, needier, unwanted animals, and tends to end up with a large running tab with her local vet!
Her favorite quote (and one she hopes you will take to heart!) is: “Don’t quit your daydream”.
Carleen’s daydream is to publish a book: she loves to write fiction in her spare time!
